Triple Beach Stone Pendant B

Triple Beach Stone Pendant B

$184.00

This necklace is part of my Lake Michigan Collection from 2018. It features three different "stones": Two pieces of Leland Blue and a piece of fossilized coral. All are bezel set in sterling silver and suspended with a series of hinges that allow the stones to move freely from each other. These stones were hand cut and polished by me in my studio

The pendant sits on a single strand leather cord made from recycled Italian leather. The end caps are hand fabricated and connected with a lobster clasp.

SIZE and LENGTH:

The pendant portion measures 2.25 x .75 inches, and the leather cord is 19.5" long.

About Leland Blue:

This type of slag glass is a byproduct of the iron smelting process in Leland during the late 1800's. Many different shades of blue are represented in this type of glass along with air bubbles and other unique impurities that give it character. This piece has been naturally tumbled by Lake Michigan and washed ashore to be cut, polished, and made into this pendant.

About Fossil Coral:

There are many different types of fossilized coral in the great lakes, but these corals are considered favosites and sometimes referred to as "Charlevoix Stone". While these are common finds all along the shores of Lake Michigan, both of these were actually found along the beach in Charlevoix!
