This pendant is handcrafted in sterling silver with a large piece of fossil whale bone set in the center. The setting is cut into the shape of a whale vertebrae and the back has the silhouette of a humpback whale skeleton. All of these design elements were hand cut with a jeweler's saw.
This ancient piece of whalebone is highly "agatized" meaning that agate has filled in where the empty bone cells once were.

The pendant portion measures 1.25 x 1.75 inches (30 x 48 mm), and the chain is 20 inches long in total (50.8 cm).
