Triple Beach Stone Pendant A

Triple Beach Stone Pendant A

$234.00

This necklace is part of my Lake Michigan Collection from 2018. It features three different "stones": A piece of Leland Blue, a Petoskey Stone, and a copper nugget from Copper Harbor. All are bezel set in sterling silver and suspended with a series of hinges that allow the stones to move freely from each other. The Leland Blue stone and Petoskey stone were cut and polished by me in my studio.

The pendant sits on a triple strand leather cord made from recycled Italian leather. The end caps are hand fabricated and connected with a lobster clasp.

SIZE and LENGTH:

The pendant portion measures 2 x 1.25 inches, and the leather cord is 18" long.

About Leland Blue:

This type of slag glass is a byproduct of the iron smelting process in Leland during the late 1800's. Many different shades of blue are represented in this type of glass along with air bubbles and other unique impurities that give it character. This piece has been naturally tumbled by Lake Michigan and washed ashore to be cut, polished, and made into this pendant.

About Petoskey Stone:

Petoskey stone is a type of fossil coral (favosite) with a unique pattern. Its name originates from an Ottowa Chief named Petosegay, which roughly translates to "sun's rays" or "rising sun". It is the official state stone of Michigan.
